To rent a campervan from our company, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license. Additional age restrictions may apply to certain vehicle types. If you are on a New Zealand Restricted licence this is also accepted provided you are still driving to your restrictions.
In most cases, a standard driver’s license is sufficient to drive a campervan in New Zealand. However, if your license is not in English, you will need to obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official translation of your license. You can find a list of approved translators here.
Campervans are generally picked up from our premises in Palmerston North. However, we can offer flexible pick up and drop-off locations though. Additional fees will apply depending on the locations chosen. You can find out more about this here.
Our campervans are permitted for use on sealed roads and well-maintained gravel roads. However, off-road driving (including driving on beaches) is prohibited. Specifically, Skipper’s Canyon (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland) are not covered by insurance.
Our campervans come equipped with basic amenities such as cooking facilities and camping chairs/table. You can hire bedding for $15 per double set and towels (bath sheet size) for $5 each.
The minimum rental period varies depending on the time of year and availability. Generally, there is a minimum rental period of two to four days out of peak season and a 14 day minimum during peak seasons. However these can fluctuate throughout the year.
We can allow well behaved dogs on request. If you are confident they wont chew or scratch the interior of the campervan we can have your dog join your trip for an additional pet fee. This is $60 for the smaller campervans and $100 for the 6 berth motorhomes.
Our campervans undergo regular maintenance to minimise the risk of breakdowns. However, in the event of an emergency or mechanical issue, our vehicles have 24/7 roadside assistance over with AA. We will also be at the end of the phone to help you get back to your adventure ASAP.
Yes, a security deposit is required 2 days before vehicle pick-up. The amount varies depending on the insurance coverage selected. You can see your options here. The deposit is refunded upon the safe return of the campervan, provided there are no damages or additional charges incurred during the rental period.
Modifications and cancellations are subject to our rental terms and conditions. Depending on the timing of your request and the availability of alternative options, fees may apply. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss any changes to your booking.
